The purpose of the establishment of entrepreneurial areas is to create the conditions for attracting investors and opening new jobs.
The industrial zone Bakar, as the largest business and commercial area in the Republic of Croatia, is located in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. The Zone is in a constant development process, primarily constituted by the preparation of the land for construction i.e. the planning of the plateau for the construction of new business entities, as well as the construction of new infrastructure. A significant role of the Zone is the revival of the local as well as of the overall County economy. Industrial zone Bakar covers an area of 500 ha, where 170 businesses employ a total of 3,700 people.
In the area of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, a series of small entrepreneurial zones operate as well, forming the backbone of the development of the economy at local level.
