Description of the project: The aim of the project is to upgrade the existing port of Crikvenica, of County importance, in order to satisfy all safety requirements for the improvement of transport services for passengers during the entire year, regardless of the number of tourists, which will favourably affect the availability of employment, education and other services to the island communities, and improving the integration of Croatian islands in the wider transport network and overcoming the key obstacles for local economic growth, all for the purpose of undisturbed operation of the county boat line Crikvenica – Šilo (Municipality of Dobrinj).
The project of port upgrading refers to investment in the protection of the port: the construction of the secondary breakwater with the purpose to protect the port from waves that arise due to the winds from the third and fourth quadrants, the addition of the “Mala palada” (protective pier and quay for boats) in the regular-shape of the letter “T” layout for the protection from waves in the new part of the port waters and the deepening of the sea to the topographic point of -3.0 m BSL, the building of the anchor system for mooring of vessels.
