Description of the project: “The Routes of the Frankopans” cultural-tourist route includes a total of 17 Frankopan castles and 3 religious sites in the area of the County, which will be enriched by the newly-developed interpretation content and promoted with a comprehensive campaign as a unique cultural tourism product and destination.
As part of the project, the castle of Trsat in Rijeka will be renovated as well. Apart from investments in the static sanation and conservation of the west wall of the residential part of the castle of Trsat, the interpretation park in the open will also be constructed.
The objective is to develop a cultural-tourist product whose facilities will attract a greater number of visitors to the sites of castles which were not in the forefront of the tourism offer of the County and in this way revive the so far less developed part of the County.
The purpose is also to develop a sense of cohesion at regional level and the creation of a platform for the cooperation of associations and cultural stakeholders.
